Swim race will start at Pipeline

The Surf & Sea North Shore Swim Series continues at 9 a.m. Saturday, beginning at 'Ehukai Beach Park (Pipeline) and ending at Waimea Bay.

Competitors, 8 years old and above, can register on the day of the event at 7:30 a.m.

The 2.3-mile race is expected to attract about 400 swimmers, said Chris Gardner, race coordinator.

The event is a partnership with the Waikiki Swim Club and North Shore Triathlon. Proceeds fund Kahuku High School aquatic scholarships and help the Kokua Foundation.

Overflow parking will be available at the Waimea Valley Audubon Center. For information, call 372-8885.
