Advertiser Staff

The 11-year-old boy who was reported missing yesterday morning from his family vacationing in Lanikai was found by a police officer in Waikiki around midnight.

Police said the boy, who suffers from Prader-Willi Syndrome and has no concept of danger or fear of anything, was located near the Ala Wai Canal after media had put out his description. He was unharmed.

The boy had last been seen by his mother asleep in their vacation home at 5 a.m. Police said the boy had taken an "unauthorized tour of the island on" TheBus.

Several people contacted police saying they had spotted the boy, helping police locate him.

The family is here visiting from Switzerland.
