Bender expands distribution of Kai vodka to California

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i beverage industry veteran Marcus Bender is expanding distribution of his ultra-premium vodka, Kai, after selling it locally for several months.

Bender has signed an agreement with Southern Wine & Spirits to distribute the high-end vodka in the Golden State. Kai is promoted as the world's first rice vodka in the ultra-premium category. It also is marketing itself as the world's first lychee-flavored vodka.

The company said Kai is made from a Yellow Blossom Rice grown in Vietnam's Red River Delta.

"Our vodka is exceptional because of the rare yellow blossom rice, which gives it a taste dramatically different than those made from wheat, potatoes or grapes," said Bender in a press statement. The company said the vodka has hints of spice, vanilla and tropical aromas that give Kai a unique taste.
