Advertiser Staff

"Young Artists Helping Young Artists," a fundraiser for the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific, will be in expansion mode when the third annual event is staged from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Hawaii State Art Museum.

Natalie Parker, 20, again chairs the event, which boasts a huge number of artwork. At the new museum site, chef Ed Kenney of Downtown, will provide food, and singer Raiatea Helm will perform.

Expanded this year to include not only the sale of artwork by young artists and participants from the Louis Vuitton Creative Arts Program at the REHAB Hospital but also fashion shows by KariJane Threads, Beige Cubed and 100 Percent Clothing and a silent auction.

"Young Artists Helping Young Artists" showcases the works by budding artists as photographers Zak Noyle, Charity Yoro and James Anshutz; jewelry makers Erica Spangler and Janine Spalding; and painters-ceramicist Eric Mead, Alan P. Ness, Michele Leong, Rita Lawrence, Laura Rillera, Fredrika Bunger, Sasha Capone and Stefanie Bond, who was Parker1s original inspiration to create this event to present works by artists who are helped in their physical challenges through the arts.

Admission to the event is two-tired; $100 tickets include private VIP seating, heavy pupu created by Kenney of Downtown, and an array of food, wine and spirits; $50 tickets include pupu and cocktails.

For tickets, call 566-3451; also available at the REHAB Hospital Foundation, 226 N. Kuakini St., with checks payable to REHAB Creative Arts Program.
