Public information meeting set on Kekaha landfill plan

WAIMEA — Representatives from the Kaua'i Department of Public Works will discuss the the proposed expansion of the Kekaha Landfill at a public information meeting next week.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Waimea Neighborhood Center.

A draft environmental assessment explaining the project is available for review at the Waimea and Lihu'e public libraries.

Public comment on the assessment will be accepted until Aug. 24.

All comments received or postmarked by Aug. 24 will be considered and a response to them will be included in the final environmental assessment.
