Ewa man charged with robbing gambling game

Prosecutors have charged one of two men suspected of robbing a gambling game Thursday night in Kalihi.

Nalu Kamaka, 23, of 'Ewa was charged Saturday at 11:20 p.m. with seven counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Kamaka is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

According to police, two men confronted a group of people in a carport who were gambling Thursday at 10:30 p.m. One of the two men had a gun and ordered the group to empty their pockets.

Kamaka, who was not the gunman, allegedly collected the money and a took a cell phone.

Before fleeing in a car, the gunman allegedly fired multiple shots in the air. The gunman, 25, is still at large.

Kamaka was arrested Friday in Kalihi.
