Moped operator injured in Kaneohe collision

Advertiser Staff

A moped operator was injured today after running a stop sign and broadsiding a pickup truck in Kane'ohe, according to police.

The collision on Waihe'e Road, 33 feet north of Waihe'e Place, occurred at 2:25 p.m.

A 36-year-old Kane'ohe man is in serious condition at The Queen's Medical Center, said Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Chepic.

The man was not wearing a helmet and speed appears to be a factor on his part, police said.

A 63-year-old woman driving the pickup truck and her passenger, a 10-year-old boy, were not injured, police said.
