UH law school announces Freeman Fellow winners

The William S. Richardson School of Law announced its 2007-2008 Freeman Fellows for the School of Law's Master of Laws Program (LL.M.). The awardees are Fang Ye of China and Suonpraseth Prum (Praseth) of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Fang, who is originally from Nanchang, is a 2001 graduate of the East China University of Politics and Law. In 2004, she earned an LL.M. from Tsinghua University in Beijing and then returned to Shanghai to teach at the China Executive Leadership Academy, a new national institution funded by the central government to train Chinese officials, many of whom will be trained in law. Praseth graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh in 1992 with a degree in English and will receive his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Royal University of Law and Economics this year. He has been involved in development work and the nonprofit sector with international organizations and in the civil service.
