Windward Mall completing year-long upgrade

Windward Mall will open an indoor children's play area Aug. 10 as the last part of a year-long renovation that cost $23 million and added many new tenants, including a 22,000-square-foot Borders containing a Starbucks cafe.Improvements at the shopping center owned by Kamehameha Schools included redesigned entrances, enhanced landscaping, new flooring, lighting, seating, signs, ceiling and an additional escalator between the mall's two levels.
