Waipahu man arrested in child sex assault case

Police arrested a 54-year-old Waipahu man for multiple sex assault counts involving a young child.The man surrendered to police at the main station at 9:25 a.m. and was booked on four counts each of first- and third-degree sex assaults.
The alleged assaults occurred between February 2000 and February 2004 when the child was under 10 years of age.
