  • Retired Air Force Col. Albert S. (Al) Nakano has been named vice president, community partners, for the Hawai'i chapter of the Air Force Association. The independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization promotes public awareness of aerospace power and the role it plays in national security. He is vice president and senior financial adviser for the Global Private Client Group of Merrill Lynch.

  • Stephanie Kim, acting director of government relations for the University of Hawai'i system since January 2006, has been named to the post permanently. Kim will be the designated representative of the university at the Legislature and before other public agencies and government bodies, monitoring legislative proceedings affecting the UH system. She will also help set strategic and policy directions and programs and establish guidelines for legislative matters.

  • Dana C. Bergeman has been named principal at Allana Buick & Bers Inc., Architects & Engineers. He will continue to run the Hawai'i Division which, in five years, has grown from two to 25 employees, and includes offices in Honolulu and Lahaina, Maui.

  • Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has named Michael Moody marketing director. In addition to overseeing company marketing and advertising, he will direct the Marketing Service Center.

  • JIT JAYAKUMAR has been named travel industry sales manager for the 3,200-acre Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island's Kohala Coast. He will be responsible for domestic and European wholesale sales, as well as uppermost retail travel agent accounts.

  • DONOVAN R.G. KOKI, former vice president in the Commercial Credit Analysis and Underwriting Department of Bank of Hawai'i, has been promoted to senior vice president. He serves as a credit administrator, responsible for managing commercial credit underwriting officers.
