The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has announced the release of a $24,975 grant to the Wai'anae Coast Coalition on behalf of Ho'ike Ike O Wai'anae.

The grant will be used to sponsor the annual cultural workshops and Hawaiian language song composition — part of a daylong event to be held Sept. 22 at the Makaha Resort and Golf Club beginning at 8:30 a.m.

That event is part of the Aloha Week Festival. The Aloha Week Royal Court will attend the song competition.

The event includes food, arts and crafts and information booths.
