Maui brushfire closes stretch of Makawao road

Firefighters are at the scene of a brushfire in Makawao, according to Maui County spokeswoman Mahina Martin.The fire, located near residential homes on Makani Road, was reported at about 10:30 a.m.
No homes have been evacuated, Martin said.
Police have closed a stretch of Apana Road, near the bypass.
