PEARL CITY
$1.45M released for sports room

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle has released $1.45 million to build an athletic training room at Pearl City High School, the governor's office announced yesterday.

The training room for the Pearl City Chargers will include an office for the athletic trainer as well as a treatment area for student athletes. It will be next to the weight room to allow for monitoring of weight training activities.

The design of the training room began in July. Construction is scheduled to be completed in July 2009.

About 2,000 students attend Pearl City High School, which was built in 1972.
