The Public Works Department has scheduled a public informational meeting Thursday on its proposed lateral expansion of the Kekaha Landfill.

The session will start at 7 p.m. at Waimea Neighborhood Center.

A draft environmental assessment, which outlines the project, is available for review at the Waimea and Lihu'e public libraries.

Public comment assessment will be accepted through Aug. 24.
