24th Universal ShowQueen pageant set for Aug. 16

Hold onto your sequins, it's time for the 24th annual Universal ShowQueen Pageant DVD Premiere/Release Party at Hula's Bar & Lei Stand.The party starts at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 16.
The DVD, "The Ultimate in Boy Beautiful," features competition in the categories of couture design, evening gown, talent and Las Vegas showgirl costume.
Performances by some of "Hawaii's elite gender illusionists" will take place before the screening. Scheduled to strut their stuff are Maddalynn Ashton, Aiko, Sharee L'amour, Keisha and Kaina Jacobs.
