$13.5 million released for Oahu school construction

About $13.5 million for construction and improvement projects at Hickam, Waialua and Dole middle schools, 'Aiea High School and Nanaikapono Elementary School have been released by the state.

Here is a breakdown of the projects

i $7.6 million for the construction of a new library and administration building at Hickam Elementary School. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2007 and scheduled to be completed in December 2008.

i $3.5 million for the construction of a new library and media center at Waialua Elementary School. Design is scheduled to be completed in December 2007 and construction is scheduled to be completed in August 2008.

i $1.2 million for the design and construction of an administrative area for faculty and staff at 'Aiea High School. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2008 and to be completed in July 2009.

i $610,000 for telecommunication and electrical upgrades at Dole Middle School. Design is scheduled to be completed in June 2008 and construction is scheduled to be completed in May 2009.

i $75,000 for the design of three portable classrooms at Dole Middle School. Design is scheduled to begin in September 2007 and to be completed in February 2008.

i $450,000 for safe and accessible playground equipment at Nanaikapono Elementary School. Design is scheduled to begin in August 2007 and construction is scheduled to be completed in October 2008.
