Electrical power restored in 18 Waikiki buildings

Electrical service has been restored to 18 buildings in the Hobron area of Waikiki as of 8 a.m.

The electricity was out for about an hour and 20 minutes this morning, said Darren Pai, spokesman for Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc.

The power outage was reported at 6:41 a.m.

Buildings along Hobron Lane, a portion of Ala Wai Boulevard and on Kaio'o Drive were affected by the outage, Pai said.

The cause of the power outage has not been determined.
