Award-winning Tahitian dance troupe at PCC tomorrow

La'ie, HI - The Polynesian Cultural Center welcomes Nonahere, an award-winning dance troupe from Tahiti, to its Tahitian Village this week. The group will take the stage Thursday, August 9, at 3:05 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. as part of the cultural performances in the PCC's Tahitian Village.

Led by ra'atira, or teacher, Kainuku Matani, Nonahere took the top spot in the Legendary Category in Heiva I Tahiti 2006, Tahiti's largest annual Tahitian dance and cultural celebration. Along with leading Nonahere, Matani is the president and founder of Association Culturelle et Artistique de Tahiti Nui, an organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the culture and arts of Tahiti.
