Oahu backdrop for new Imax film 'Proud American'

O'ahu will serve as a backdrop this month for a variety of scenes in the new IMAX film "Proud American."From Friday through Sunday, footage being shot will include ocean sports, a wedding, pineapples being harvested and aerial views of the USS Arizona Memorial and the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Footage also will be shot of several landscapes and ocean views.
"Proud American" is directed by Fred Ashman, of LightSource LLC, in association with Multi Image Productions Inc. Six true stories have been selected for the film to showcase the grandeur of the nation.
Hawai'i photographer Ric Noyle will shoot stills for the O'ahu segment.
The film is scheduled for release in September 2008.
