Honolulu college offers music business classes

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu Community College will offer a music business program for the first time this fall.

The program will debut with two introductory classes, "Survey of Music Business" and "History of the Record Business." Registration is going on now and classes start Aug. 20.

The program, called Music and Entertainment Learning Experience, is designed to foster and promote the music profession in Hawai'i. Students will get training in entertainment business expertise and technical production skills, and apply for internships in Hawai'i and elsewhere.

The Board of Regents is set to approve an associate degree curriculum for the program this fall.
