Dragon Boat Festival set for this weekend

The Hawai'i Dragon Boat Festival is set for this weekend at Ala Moana Beach Park.Teams are still being sought for the event. To sign up, call 527-6090. Each team must have 19 members, including 16 paddlers, a drummer, a flag catcher and a steer person.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and will feature races of traditional dragon boats. Businesses, Chinese societies and others are participating.
Even city agencies are getting involved in a big way. On Sunday, a team formed by Mayor Mufi Hannemann and one formed by the City Council will go head to head.
