U.S. hotel room revenue increased last week

U.S. hotels enjoyed a 7.5 percent rise in revenue per available room in the week ending Aug. 5, according to Smith Travel Research's Weekly Lodging Report.The travel research firm said the average daily room rate increased 6.3 percent to $104.07, while occupancy nationwide rose to 73.8 percent.
