In Florida, whose presidential primary scheduled for January will be the first by a large state, Clinton is viewed unfavorably by 42 percent of the voters, a small improvement from the 47 percent with negative views of her in June. Her lead over Obama has widened slightly. The only Republican close to Clinton's unfavorable status is McCain, at 39 percent. The top three GOP contenders have held about steady in the state since June.

The Quinnipiac University poll was conducted July 30 to Aug. 6 and involved telephone interviews with 962 Florida voters, and had an overall margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The margin of sampling error for both the 380 Democratic voters and the 366 Republican voters questioned was plus or minus 5 percentage points.
