CHICAGO — Detectives questioning four suspects in the robbery of pro basketball star Antoine Walker today continued to explore possible links to the similar robbery of NBA player Eddy Curry.

Investigators were still working out details of in the Walker robbery and charges were expected tomorrow at the earliest, law enforcement sources said.

Police officials would not discuss details of possible links, but they said detectives in Chicago and suburban Burr Ridge are working together on the case.

Burr Ridge detectives have been meeting with Chicago detectives "the last couple days," Burr Ridge Chief Herbert Timm said. He confirmed that they have been in the city in part because of the people in custody, but he wouldn't say if his detectives were questioning the suspects.

Today, Burr Rider police spokesman Cpl. Tim Vaclav said that detectives from the suburban agency were interviewing the suspects. "They're at them right now," he said.

Timm would not discuss how close his investigators were to seeking charges in the Curry case.

Walker, a 6-foot-9 forward for the Miami Heat, was robbed in his River North town house on July 9. Walker, who played basketball at Mt. Carmel High School, was bound with duct tape and robbers took jewelry, cash and his black Mercedes.

On July 28, Curry, was robbed at his mansion in Burr Ridge. The former Chicago Bull, who now plays for the New York Knicks, was also bound with duct tape by masked men who made off with jewelry and cash.

Neither player, or family members who were home at the time, were injured in the robberies.

The men in custody at the Belmont Area Headquarters were linked to the Walker robbery by evidence that included a fingerprint and video surveillance, a police source said.
