NFL: Bears' Ayanbadejo suspended four games

Associated Press

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The NFL suspended Chicago Bears fullback Obafemi Ayanbadejo for the first four regular-season games without pay for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.

The suspension begins Sept. 1 and ends following the game against Detroit on Sept. 30. He is eligible to participate in preseason games and practices.

Ayanbadejo signed a one-year contract with the Bears in June after spending the past three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He has 513 yards rushing, 885 receiving and eight touchdowns, but has specialized in special teams play in eight NFL seasons.

When he signed with the Bears, Obafemi Ayanbadejo reunited with his brother Brendan, a linebacker. They were teammates with the Miami Dolphins in 2003.
