NFL: Jaguars sign Jackson for receiver depth

Associated Press

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free agent receiver Chris Jackson today, adding depth while Ernest Wilford and Matt Jones deal with minor injuries.

Wilford sprained his left knee Tuesday, and Jones is nursing a sore hamstring.

Jackson originally signed with Pittsburgh in April as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Millsaps College. He was waived July 30, then signed with New Orleans. The Saints cut him Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver led Millsaps in receiving, punt returns and kickoff returns as a senior. He caught 65 passes for 693 yards and nine touchdowns, and had 832 return yards and three touchdowns.
