Gas Co. owner reports second quarter loss

Macquarie Infrastructure Co. reported it swung to a second-quarter net loss of $25 million from a profit of $9.44 million a year earlier. It reported revenue rose by two-thirds to $177.2 million from a year earlier.The New York-based company counts The Gas Co. in Hawai'i among its units. Macquarie said the fundamental driver of continued growth in its gas production and distribution business is population growth in Hawai'i. It also operates airport services, bulk liquid storage, and other infrastructure businesses around the nation.
