SALT LAKE
$13.5 million for schools freed up

Gov. Linda Lingle has released $7.7 million for a new library and administration building at Hickam Elementary School.

Construction of the library and administration building is expected to begin in September and be completed in December 2008.

Lingle also released $1.2 million for the design and construction of administrative space for 'Aiea High School; $3.5 million to build a new library and media center at Waialua Elementary School and convert the current library into classrooms; $610,000 for telecommunications and power upgrades at Dole Middle School; and $450,000 for playground equipment at Nanaikapono Elementary School.
