Former employees of the Westin Kaua'i Hotel have scheduled a reunion weekend Sept. 21 to 23 at the hotel that now occupies the same property, the Kaua'i Marriott.

The Westin, in turn, had been built on the grounds of the former Kaua'i Surf Resort.

The Westin opened in 1987 with 855 rooms on Kalapaki Bay. The resort closed after damage from Hurricane Iniki and was sold to Marriott.

Former employees are planning dining, golf, a family beach day and other activities.
