Twins sign Jerome Williams to minor-league contract

Righthanded pitcher Jerome Williams, the former Waipahu High School star, has signed a minor-league contract with the Minnesota Twins and has been assigned to Triple-A Rochester, rotoworld.com reported Friday.

Williams, 25, has a career record of 23-29 in the majors with the Washington Nationals, Oakland A's, Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants, who drafted the 6-foot-3 righthander in 1999.

Williams, 25, was 0-5 with a 7.20 earned run average in six starts with the Nationals this season.
