Ex-UH star Satele seen as one of NFL rookies to watch

Former University of Hawaii center Samson Satele, drafted in the second round by the Miami Dolphins, is one of the rookies to watch this preseason, according to NFL Network reporter Adam Schefter. In an article posted on nfl.com, Schefter wrote:
"The 60th player selected, Satele is expected to have more of an impact this season than wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. and quarterback John Beck, Miami's two higher profile selections. Satele is expected to be the Dolphins' starting center on opening day and, if the organization is right, he could be the centerpiece of the offensive line for the next dozen years. Satele is smart, tough and driven and he already is making calls for the entire offensive line. Satele has short arms -- not ideal for an offensive lineman -- but he is long on potential."
Satele is expected to see action today when Miami takes on Jacksonville in an exhibition game that features numerous Hawaii players.
Satele is one of three UH players on the Dolphins, along with fullback Reagan Mauia and offensive lineman Tala Esera. Jacksonville features former UH player Vince Manuwai and former Kahuku star Chris Naeole, who played collegiately at Colorado.
Schefter sent out emails this week to about a dozen teams, inquiring to see which rookies had stood out.
Others, he wrote, will jump out in the games and weeks to come but the ones to watch now includes Buffalo running back Marshawn Lynch, Chicago tight end Greg Olsen, Green Bay wide receiver James Jones, Arizona defensive tackle Alan Branch, Kansas City running back Kolby Smith, Minnesota cornerback Marcus McCauley and San Diego wide receiver Craig Davis.
