TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"The Fugitive" (1993), 5 p.m., TNT. In a terrific night for movies, this is the best of the bunch. Harrison Ford plays a man who escaped, after being wrongfully convicted of murder. Tommy Lee Jones is his relentless pursuer. Andrew Davis directed beautifully, creating taut power.

OF NOTE

"Speed" (1994, FX) or "Miss Congeniality" (2000, TBS), both 5 p.m. Take your pick of Sandra Bullock films here. The FX film is fast-paced; the TBS one is a pleasant trifle. Plan ahead, though: "Speed" continues until 8 p.m.; Bullock's charming "While You Were Sleeping" starts at 7:10 on TBS.

"NY77: The Coolest Year in Hell," 6 p.m., VH1. The year 1977 was the best and worst in New York City history, this film says. There were the Son of Sam murders, the blackout and urban decay. Meanwhile, art forms emerged, from break dancing to great graffiti. The hip-hop era was starting.

"Killer Wave," 6 p.m., Ion. Here's a second chance to see this film, the first of a dozen that Robert Halmi's company is producing for Ion (formerly Pax). As waves lash the East Coast, a scientist suspects the crisis is man-made.

"Claire," 6 p.m., Hallmark Channel. Shortly after a clairvoyant woman (Valerie Bertinelli) arrives with her husband and daughters, people start to die. This film has an oddly light tone, despite all the deaths. The mystery sort of makes sense, so it's all moderately entertaining.

"Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" (2003), 7 p.m., ABC. In this sequel, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu again kick villains while looking great. This time, Demi Moore shows up as a former Angel gone bad.

"The Unit," 7 p.m., CBS. The team tries to help soldiers pinned down in Paraguay. A death there creates a custody crisis for a soldier's fiancee who wants to care for the kids.

"Masters of Science Fiction: The Awakening," 7 p.m., ABC. Terry O'Quinn of "Lost" plays a former UFO researcher, brought out of retirement. A body in Iraq leads to the discovery of catatonic people in an odd state of bliss.

"Medium," 9 p.m., NBC. Allison dreams of a possessed woman.
