College: Houston player passes out during workout

HOUSTON — Houston offensive lineman Jerrod Butler passed out while lifting weights today but was recovering at a Houston hospital.The 20-year-old lost consciousness about 9 a.m. and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was in stable condition, associate athletic director Chris Burkhalter said.
No other details on the incident involving the 6-foot-2, 330-pound sophomore were immediately available. Burkhalter referred further questions to team trainer Mike O'Shea, who didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press today.
