Macadamia Orchards loses $356K in second quarter

Hilo-based ML Macadamia Orchards LP today reported a second quarter loss of $356,000 or 5 cents a share, versus a year-ago loss of $27,000. Second quarter revenues dipped to $1.2 million in the three months ended June 30, compared with $1.3 million in revenues in the second quarter of 2006.Year-ago results included a favorable nut price adjustment, according to the company. Second quarter 2007 results reflect $143,000 in legal and other costs related to a proposed acquisition of Mac Farms.
Shares of ML Macadamia rose nine-tenths of a cent to close at $4.939 on the New York Stock Exchange today.
