Big Island Wal-Marts switch to 24-hour operation

Advertiser Staff

Hilo and Kailua, Kona Wal-Mart stores will remain open 24 hours a day — effective today — to serve community needs in preparation for Hurricane Flossie.

The company is restocking its in-store supplies of water, batteries, canned foods and other emergency kit supplies.

The Hilo and Kailua, Kona store hours are normally 6 a.m. to midnight. Wal-Mart's store hours on the other islands currently remain the same.

The Kaua'i and Maui stores are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the four O'ahu store locations (Honolulu, Kunia/Waipahu, Mililani and Pearl City) are open 24 hours a day.
