NFL: Panthers sign ex-Tampa Bay tackle Walker

Associated Press

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Carolina Panthers signed former Tampa Bay tackle Kenyatta Walker today, making him teammates with former nemesis Kris Jenkins.

Walker and Jenkins had a running feud for several years after Jenkins publicly criticized him following a game between Tampa Bay and Carolina in 2003.

The 6-5, 302-pound Walker, who spent his first six seasons with the Buccaneers, was released in the offseason. He started 73 of 75 games at right tackle and left tackle. He suffered a knee injury early last season and missed the final 13 games.

The 28-year-old Walker, who first worked out for the team last month, will provide depth behind left tackle Travelle Wharton and right tackle Jordan Gross.

The Panthers also waived defensive end Jason Hall and tight end Dan Murray.
