ALA WAI
Sewage meeting tomorrow night

Advertiser Staff

The city will hold a meeting to discuss its wastewater treatment system and its priorities in managing O'ahu's sewage tomorrow at Ala Wai School.

The meeting will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the school's cafeteria.

One purpose of the meeting is to discuss the city's request that the Environmental Protection Agency continue to allow the Honouliuli and Sand Island wastewater treatment plants to operate with 301(h) waivers from full secondary treatment requirements.

The EPA has extended the public comment period on the denial for Honouliuli's waiver to Aug. 27.

All concerned residents are encouraged to attend.
