Kauai native, New Yorker are KPD chief finalists

Darryl Perry, a former Kapa'a High athlete and retired Honolulu police major, and Gerald Mines of New York are the finalists to become the new Kaua'i police chief.The Kaua'i Police Commission yesterday extended a conditional offer to one of the two men, it was announced today in a county news release.
The appointment is pending that the candidate meets certain Kaua'i Police Department and county personnel requirements.
