Advertiser Staff

Darryl Perry, a former Kapa'a High athlete and retired Honolulu police major, and Gerald Mines of New York are the finalists to become the new Kaua'i police chief.

The Kaua'i Police Commission yesterday extended a conditional offer to one of the two men, it was announced today in a county news release.

The appointment is pending that the candidate meets certain Kaua'i Police Department and county personnel requirements.
