Woman charged with arson on Big Island

Big Island police have charged a woman in connection with three structure fires that started around 3 a.m. Thursday. The fires burned at three establishments in the area of Kopiko Street in Kailua, Kona.

Damage included a two-story stairwell with an elevator and the side of a building, police said. Damage is estimated at more than $250,000.

Laura Pinder, 25, who has no permanent address, was arrested and charged with three counts of arson. Bail is $150,000.
