HELCO releases new emergency phone number

Hawaii Electric Light Company's normal emergency phone number is out of service today.HELCO officials are asking customers with concerns about power disruptions, downed lines and other problems to call 969-6999.
Also, due to the anticipated impacts from Hurricane Flossie, customer service and bill payments offices in Hilo, Waimea and Kona will be closed at 2 p.m. The offices are expected to reopen at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
