U.S. hotel revenue rose by 7.5 percent in the latest week

Revenue per available room at U.S. hotels rose 7.5 percent in the week ended Aug. 4, according to Smith Travel Research.The travel research firm reported that revenue per available room averaged $76.76 during the week. It said the average daily room rate was up 6.3 percent to $104.07, while average occupancy was 73.8 percent.
