Advertiser Staff

A light 4.2-magnitude earthquake located six miles deep and six miles northwest of Ka'ena Point rattled the Big Island at 2:23 a.m. today, but no tsunami was registered.

The earthquake was the 16th minor quake since a 5.4-magnitude earthquake shook the Big Island shortly after 10:30 on Monday night. That one was registered four miles southeast of Pu'u 'O'o Crater.
