UH-Hilo, HCC to resume business tomorrow

University of Hawai'i at Hilo officials today announced that the campus will be in full operation beginning tomorrow. UH Hilo and Hawai'i Community College closed Tuesday and today due to Hurricane Flossie.

Several offices at UH Hilo are currently open, however, to assist students participating in Orientation Week, a news release said. The Admissions Office is open for advising, and the Student Health Center is open.

Both offices will remain open until 4 p.m. today. Also, students who still need to register for fall classes may do so today until 4 p.m. in UCB 103, 104 and 105 computer labs, the release said.

Here is a list of Orientation Week schedule changes:

  • Math Placement Exam (added test time): 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., UCB 101 & 102

  • General Advising Sessions (general education, graduation requirements, transfer issues): 10-11:15 a.m. for new students, UCB 114; 10-11:15 a.m. for transfer/returning students, UCB 112; 2-3 p.m. for new, transfer, returning students, UCB 100

  • Peer Assistant Linkages & Support (PALS) Orientation & Advising: 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., Campus Center 301

  • Lu'au Under the Stars: meet at Campus Center turn-around at 2:45 p.m. for shuttles to 'Imiloa Astronomy Center tour; lu'au will be held in the Campus Center Dining Room.
