JAL to hike fuel surcharge on Hawaii flights in October

Advertiser Staff

JAL Group said it will raise its fuel surcharges on Hawai'i flights by 1,200 yen ($10.29) beginning Oct. 1 because of rising oil prices.

The air carrier said it was increasing the surcharge on all international flights from current levels and that the new rate will apply to the last three months of the year.

It issued a release saying the Japan-Hawai'i surcharge will be boosted to 9,900 yen from 8,700 yen for sales within Japan. Tickets purchased outside of the country will have a surcharge rise on Japan-Hawai'i flights from the current $72 to $82.
