Flossie's leftovers bring rain to Windward areas

With Flossie being downgraded to a tropical storm and continuing to track west away from the Big Island, gusty and rainy conditions were expected to linger over the Big Island, particularly over the Ka'u and Puna districts, the National Weather Service said.The remnants of Flossie, moving at 15 mph, are still expected to pass south of the rest islands through Thursday.
On O'ahu it was relatively dry overnight with sprinkles in Leeward areas but not enough to slow the brushfire that's burned some 6,700 acres in the Waialua area.
The National Weather Service said moisture from Flossie actually did spread across the island chain this morning, with Windward sections of most islands seeing an increase in precipitation. The lone exceptions were Ni'ihau and Kaua'i, which could get some moisture from it today.
