Made in Hawaii Festival kicks off Friday at Blaisdell

Local manufacturers, artists and farmers will showcase their goods from Friday through Sunday at the 2007 Made in Hawai'i Festival at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and Arena.

The event, produced by the Hawaii Food Industry Association and sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank, will feature 400 exhibitors of items such as food, books, gifts, plants, clothing and art.

Last year, the exhibition drew 35,000 attendees over three days and generated $3 million in sales.

The event this year runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3. Children age 6 and under are admitted free.
