Hawaii's favorite Bachelor and Tessa split(!)

Looks like the engagement between The Bachelor and his chosen bride-to-be is off for now.

E! Online reported today that Lt. Andy Baldwin, the Hawai'i-based star of ABC's reality series, "The Bachelor," and Tessa Horst, the social worker he tapped to be his wife, confirmed that the engagement is off — for now.

"We are very much in love and committed to our relationship," the couple said in a joint statement. "Our relationship continues to deepen, and we're very hopeful about our future together."

Baldwin, 30, posed the question of matrimony to Horst, 26, after she accepted his final rose on the May 21 finale of "The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman." He is a Navy doctor at Pearl Harbor and was not available locally for comment.

The un-engagement was noted in Touch Weekly, where Baldwin said "when the fantasy wore off and the reality set in, we both realized we weren't ready to be engaged. We're taking things much slower."
