Nine volunteers were appointed by Gov. Linda Lingle to serve on the Governor's West Hawai'i Community Advisory Council.

The members are retired real estate broker Beverly Byouk; Douglas Carr of Professional Divers Hawai'i; Dale Fergestrom of Kamehameha Schools; Glennon Gingo, Realtor; Estela Halverson of Kona Outdoor Circle; Lei Kihoi, a Department of Education social worker; Joanne Ralston of Joanne Ralston & Associates; Elaine Watai of The Salvation Army; and chairman Rick Vidgen, a Realtor and agribusiness consultant.

The council will hold public meetings on the second Wednesday of every month.
