Hawaii Sign Language Festival begins tomorrow

Thse who use sign langiuage in daily life, as well as students who may be studying it, are invited to the two-day Hawai'i Sign Language Festival that's being held at Kapi'olani Community College's Ohi'a Building tomorrow from 1 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The festival offers entertainment, food, exhibits and prizes, plus a museum of Hawai'i deaf history.

Tomorrow, a $10 workshop will be held entitled "Preserving Hawaiian Sign Language." It runs from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Dinner tomorrow will also feature local stories and entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $15 a person.
